Join me for a fun and informal introduction to modern calligraphy at Behind the Wall just opposite Grahamston railway station in the centre of Falkirk.

This workshop will bring you though the basics of modern flexible nib dip pen calligraphy. We'll start with an introduction to the tools and how to use them, including assembling the calligraphy pen, using inks and understanding flow and pressure. We'll then move onto how to make basic shapes and strokes, and finally to creating letterforms using my sample modern calligraphy alphabet as a guide. By the end of the class you should be more confident and starting to develop your own unique calligraphy style, with plenty of time for practice and one-to-one tuition.

You will receive a calligraphy starter kit to use for the workshop and take home with you afterwards. The ticket price also includes a complimentary glass of Prosecco, because research has shown that the consumption of fizz greatly improves calligraphy skills*.

Whether you're a bride-to-be planning your wedding stationery or just love all things handwritten - this will be a fun and informal workshop that will give you the tools you need to start your very own calligraphy practice.

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets are not refundable or exchangeable. Please make sure you can attend the workshop before booking. This does not not affect your statutory rights.

*Another note: This research was undertaken by one woman (myself) and results can vary.
