Custom calligraphy design process

If you are looking for a completely custom calligraphy wedding invitation suite, menu or other design piece, this is how things will work.

 

STEP ONE

You pull together imagery and other inspiration that captures the look and feel of what you are looking for. Pinterest is perfect for this. Inspiration can be anything from examples of similar work, to calligraphy styles you like, colours, textures or typefaces. We will then meet or arrange a call to discuss and confirm your unique calligraphy project direction.

 

STEP TWO

I will then work up a proposal and full estimate for the work for your approval. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due for invitation suites and menus prior to me getting started on the design. For more straightforward jobs like prints, 100% of the cost is due prior to me commencing design.

 

STEP THREE

After you approve the proposal and costs, I will get started on the design. At this point we will need to confirm the final wording for the piece. I will provide proofs for you to review and make any changes necessary. Up to (2) rounds of revisions are included in the costs. Any changes after that are chargeable at £30 per round of changes.

If you are looking for me to manage the print and production of your job, during this stage I will provide paper recommendations. Once the design is in a good place, I will provide a final production cost based on the quantity and paper spec agreed with you.

 

STEP FOUR

The design is approved by you and final artwork is prepared for the printer. The remaining 50% of your job balance will be due. Once that is paid, artwork will be sent to print and delivered to you.
