Custom calligraphy design process

If you are looking for a the design of a custom calligraphy wedding stationery or other design piece, this is how things will work.

You pull together imagery and other inspiration that captures the look and feel of what you are looking for. Pinterest is perfect for this. Inspiration can be anything from examples of similar work, to calligraphy styles you like, colours, textures or typefaces. If you have a florist or photographer booked, their details are also helpful to allow me to get a sense of what you like.

If you are struggling for inspiration, check out my Pinterest account - I have loads of boards with stationery inspiration.

If you are looking for wedding stationery, you would then fill in my Wedding Stationery Enquiry Form, which will give me the details I need to put together a detailed quote for you.

I will then work up a cost estimate for the work which I will send to you to review. This will include rough printing costs. If you are keen to move ahead, we will then meet or arrange a call to discuss and firm up your requirements.

To formally book you into my calendar, a 50% non-refundable deposit is due for invitation suites and larger stationery projects prior to me getting started on the design. For more straightforward jobs like prints, 100% of the cost is due prior to me commencing design.

After you approve costs and pay the deposit/invoice, I will get started on the design. At this point we will need to confirm the final wording for the piece. I will provide proofs for you to review and make any changes necessary. Up to (2) rounds of revisions are included in the costs. Any changes after that are chargeable at £30 per round of changes.

If you are looking for me to manage the print and production of your job, during this stage I will provide paper recommendations. Once the design is in a good place, I will provide a final production cost based on the quantity and paper spec agreed with you.

The design is approved by you and final artwork is prepared for the printer. The remaining 50% of your job balance will be due. Once that is paid, artwork will be sent to print and delivered to you.
